Cathedral to Castle Square

Trams from Hillsborough were crossing over at the Cathedral and then running wrong line to Castle Square.

After each tram had passed, the points were reset for its return.

City to Granville Road

Trams from Halfway were terminating at the back of the station.

I travelled from Castle Square on this bus with a rather bored driver.

Inbound tram passengers were being directed by the lady in yellow who told me I wasn't allowed to take photographs.

It was quite a long walk from the bus to the tram so I followed the progress of the pink umbrella...

...round the corner and up the hill...

...across the tracks...

...and along the path to the platform.

Thanks for the comments Geoff. There is no real reason for adding my name to the pictures so I will stop doing it. With regard to street photography I simply said that it was not against the law to take photographs on a public road and kept walking.

Only one set of doors were opened by the conductor at the temporary stop and customers were shown how to use the temporary steps.

Easter Sunday

When I was younger, I always used to enjoy being a tram conductor on busy bank holiday weekends and was pleased to see two of today's young members doing the same. What will the museum be like in another 40 years? Will it exist in its present form?

The tunnel into the library has been discovered by the enemy and filled in, rather inexpertly.

This is the former Silver Service number 4, an AEC Regal of the 1940s. Am I right in thinking that this was once owned by Bill Gardener? Remember him?

The track on the triangular junction that forms the hub of the Sheffield tramway is being relaid over Easter weekend resulting in a diversion through the depot and replacement buses in the city centre. Click link for details.

Trams from Meadowhall towards the city are diverting through the depot yard....

....including a trip trough the washer.

On leaving the depot, the trams run wrong line to Cricket Inn Road.

Trams towards Meadowhall stop at the usual platform at Nunnery Square.

The tram service in Sheffield was disrupted today by planned track work and then an unplanned hail storm.
