SOUTHERN ITALY AND SARDINIA TOUR SEPT/OCT 2014 - GENT
Onwards to Gent, our final stop of the tour, and into Autumn! It was very damp and rainy and the light wasn't too good but I did my best. At least I got my steak frite for dinner (although not cheval, as it is not eaten in Gent, apparently!). That's all for now folks!
Don't know when/where is next yet for 2015, but might be Edinburgh soon - we'll see.

SOUTHERN ITALY AND SARDINIA TOUR SEPT/OCT 2014 - SAARBRUCKEN
We left Bologna at 0800 on Monday morning bound for Saarbrucken, a very long day, We arrived about an hour before dinner was due to be served, so only the hardiest spotters ventured out to find the station and the trams. On our departure it was arranged that those who wanted to ride part of the new line extension as far as Hausweiler Markt could so so and the bus would pick them up at the stop.

SOUTHERN ITALY AND SARDINIA TOUR SEPT/OCT 2014 - FLORENCE
Enroute to the malcontented Bologna, we paid a short visit to Florence. We were dropped off at the terminus and had time to ride the line to the end and then have a little time to stop off here and there for photos before departure to Bologna. Florence has just the one route at the moment with a second under construction.

SOUTHERN ITALY AND SARDINIA TOUR SEPT/OCT 2014 - BOLOGNA
Well sad to say for some, the trolleybuses weren't running as it was a Sunday when we arrived. Even worse, at the time of our departure at 0800 on the Monday none had been sighted on the routes past the Railway Station and there were buses showing the route numbers of the Trolleybuses. I don't know as yet if the trolleybuses were running elsewhere in the city - shame! I saw this street sign in Bologna old town and thought it summed up the situation.
What more can |I say? |
