Wakebridge 9th December (1)

Now that the concrete base is complete, track laying has started. The rails will be supported by metal plates (1) which will be bolted to the concrete. Pandrol clips and tie bars will hold the rail in place. All rail joints will be welded with the exception of cast points and crossings which will be bolted together using fish plates. Various tools have been delivered to the site including this power drill (2), a hydraulic rail bender know as a jim crow (3) and these rail mounted rail carriers known as iron men (4).
