I think, from what I have heard, that it would be to do with attaching the new toilets in the building to the underground pipe networks. But this is only what I have heard and I am not sure of its integrity! Makes sense though. The builders have promised us the full use of Town End by Easter 1940s; though scaffolding will remain up the line should be clear. I hope.
I don't know what this hole is for and perhaps it would be foolhardy to ask for suggestions.
