Grumpy old men

Hi Richard
I joined up with Frank and David for a visit to Manchester yesterday to sample Media City and St Werburg's Road. It's amazing how the enthusiasm has sustained from our attendance at the last rights in Sheffield and Glasgow to the present day. Growing old disgracefully and reminiscing about our special love, 1297! As a Railway nut it was also fascinating to travel down the Midland Main line where my last journey was behind Jubilee Class 45705 Seahorse on the 1705 Manchester Central to Buxton and repeat the progress for a little way on a Metrolink light rail vehicle - wonderful.
Regards
Martin Miller

Aaaah Seahorse. Pulling a rake of green SR coaching stock as I recall. I did a last run from Central To Didsbury on the final day in 66 but it was diesel hauled then dashed off to town to ride the last trolleybus from Stevie Square to Hyde Road, all that and trying to study Balzac for French A levels in summer 67. Memories indeed. Howie B
