JOHN SHAWCROSS FUNERAL - VERY FITTING SEND OFF

John's funeral was a very fitting send off and attended by approx 200 people. The service had a reading of  'I am a Tram Man' poem read by Geoffrey Claydon and a eulogy by Colin Heaton about his life and times from a child to his time at BREL and the Tramway Museum. Mourners were brought from Crich in two vintage single decker buses and back to the Red Lion for the wake.

A surprise awaited everyone in the Red Lion where several parrots awaited us - one of the Workshop in jokes from many years ago.  A lovely buffet washed down by a couple of John's favourite beers followed. A grand total of £1400 was donated in lieu of flowers for the DLRAA.  Christine wishes to thank everyone for their generous donations.
