SHEFFIELD TRAMTRAIN PROGRESS REPORT - Martin Miller

I had a trip to Sheffield yesterday to see if there were any signs of progress with the new track for the tram train project. The turn off will be at the end of the bridge shown in the foreground but this is as close as I could get. It looked as thought the track bed was well under way. Lke Frank Bagshaw I peered into the depot yard to see the first tram train vehicle which has started night time testing.

A couple of videos from the day are below:-

NET SHORTWORKINGS DUE TO TRACKWORK ON 13/14 FEBRUARY 2016 - Frank Bagshaw

Nottingham Express Transit trackworks this weekend included the relaying of  the outer curve at the top of Victoria Street and Middle Hill, near the Lace Market tram stop. Trams ran to either Old Market Square or Nottingham train station with a bus connection between. Frank Bagshaw visited the site and photographed trams doing  short workings - and rode the crossover in Old Market Square.
A Citadis tram leaves Market Street showing the not normally seen destination: "Old Market Square"

Here is Citadis tram 235 bound for Hucknall using the crossover.
