WEST MIDLANDS METRO 4 OCTOBER 2019 - Martin Miller

Had another look on Friday, at the work site that still represents the Metro extension beyond Grand Central. I had thought that it would have moved on a little further as test running is supposed to commence this month. It does look as though the overhead has been terminated ready for the change over to battery power.

In the depot  - LT HR2 no. 1858 that has seen many years service in the East Anglian Transport museum.

Constructing the Centenary Square tram stop. This is due for completion by the end of the year.

Have West Midlands Metro got this bit wrong at the back of the town hall?  The track seems to be only 3’6” gauge!

This is as far as the new track goes until rebuilding work at Wolverhampton train station is complete

On a recent visit to the Pyrenees, Frank found himself viewing metre gauge trams operated by Euskotren Tranbia running in two cities - Bilbao (one route) and Vitoria (two routes).
