Kerstin & Christoph

Christoph & Kerstin were over from Germany last week. During that time they renewed their driving and conducting licences at Crich.

It is a long time since Kath and I worked together on the trams. I remember that the last tram we worked on was Glasgow 812 and it was in June 1994.Posted by Picasa

  1. Thanks for the pictures. Yes, we are back, after much deliberation. Initially it will be on a "every little helps" basis but as people who are bound to know said, this is perfectly acceptable. And who knows what will happen in a few years time?

May we use this opportunity to say a big "thank you" to all those who made our return possible and for the warm welcome?

Despite all reservations and criticism, Crich is a place worth coming to with many very nice people who we would sorely miss even though we freely admit that there are some we could do without. If only we had more time!

  2. Has anyone else noticed that most of the time when a husband and wife team are crewing a tram, the wife is driving and the husband conducting? I know on only one exception, and that's because she can't drive (yet!). An interesting point I think... lol

Kerstin & Christoph, I'm sure sure that I'm only one of many who are delighted to have seen you back among us at Crich. Don't leave it so long next time.

  4. @Rich: Your perception stands to be corrected. Out of the, surprisingly many, husband and wife teams there is only one where he does not hold a driving licence. In contrast, there are quite a few, present and, regettably, past where she does not hold a driving licence. Actually, I believe that Kerstin and I are currently the only couple where both hold both qualifications and maybe only the second in TMS history, Richard and Kath being the first, but I stand to be corrected on that.

  5. Disagree Rich, I can list at least three examples of the other way round and just one where it's the wife driving.

    Hmmm.

  6. Not wanting to be drawn into an argument, but I can list a few husband/wife teams where the wife drives/husband conducts, and apart from Richard/Kath and Christoph/Kerstin there is at least one more couple that hold both qualifications at the present moment :-P
