The total sum pledged by the end of yesterday afternoon is GBP 4985. We are very close but not close enough yet. We have 8 days left to reach the target. Please support the appeal now! Wim Beukenkamp
Hi Richard, hope you are feeling better & I assume you are now back at home since the site is active again.
Has there been any comment from the TMS as to whether this car would be accepted into the collection and covered accommodation made available? Is it fair that people are pledging money for a cause that may not be possible anyway?
There is the potential for a lot of criticism, bad press and bad feelings if this initiative proves to have been less well conceived than people imagine.
It would be really unfortunate if this went badly wrong.
@ Nigel Walker: From what I know the appeal is very welcomed by TMS officials and the appeal also serves to provide covered accommodation. Unless the target is met, nobody will be asked to part with hard earned cash.
To me it looks as if we are back to the more glorious days in the 1905s and 1960s when tramcars were saved through the efforts of individuals. Some where lost then, so if you like the looks of the car or not, please make sure this type of car is not lost now!
