SHEFFIELD ATTERCLIFFE ON SUNDAY 22 APRIL 2018 - Martin Miller

I had a run to Sheffield on Sunday to see if I could record the track renewals planned at the same time as connecting the wiring to the Rotherham extension. Slightly frustrating as they had finished earlier than planned!

The track renewal was over the road crossing at Attercliffe and here are a couple of photos of the end product.

 

 

MIDLAND METRO EXTENSION - FRIDAY 20 APRIL 2018

A visit to Wolverhampton on Friday found the barriers in place ready for the digging to start on the corner of Lichfield Street.

Frank Bagshaw was in Blackpool yesterday and sends us this photo of “the old and the new” at the Tower. The other heritage tram in service was 630. Frank also reports sighting one of the new Flexity 2 trams no. 017 in service.

A look at the Cathedral stop which always gives a lift as who would have though after that fateful October afternoon in 1960 we would see trams ever again in Sheffield.
