CRICH TRAMWAY VILLAGE ON 5 MAY 2021 - Frank Bagshaw

A nice painting of Aberdeen 49, one of the ex-Manchester Pilcher cars subject of a failed preservation plan back in the 1950's. Frank Bagshaw spent another day conducting at Crich this week, this time on LCC 106. Also in service was Blackpool 236 - it turned out to be a cold day. On view in the depot was Derby 1 ready for it's journey to Clay Cross, to make room for Blackpool 298. seen in the depot also was Glasgow 1282. finally a nice painting of Aberdeen 49, one of the ex-Manchester Pilcher cars subject of a failed preservation plan back in the 1950's.

BLAST FROM THE PAST - c1975 DHMD1 at Clapham Museum - Frank Bagshaw

This photograph recenty surfaced at a reecent STTS slide show evening and prompted great amusement at how time has marched on and people have changed. It does look as though Barbers had a lockdown in this era too! DHMD1 was being prepared for its move to Crich. The posers are l-r, Geoff Peppiatt, Ian Ross, Brian King, Ian Souter, Alan Bertram, ? thought to be an engineer on the Underground and Bob Tebb. It is possible that the photographer was David Packer who also used to attend.

SHEFFIELD SUPERTRAM TRACK REPLACEMENT IN SEPTEMBER 2020 - Frank Bagshaw

Tram 125 uses the Donetsk Way crossover to regain the correct track for it's journey to Malin Bridge 

SHEFFIELD SUPERTRAM TRACK REPLACEMENT CONTINUES.
During the current stage Blue route trams are terminating at Donetsk Way before returning to Malin Bridge.
Here tram 125 sets off wrong line for its return journey.

LISBON 711 AT CROWLE ON 13 SEPTEMBER 2020 - Anthony Watt

 

At Crowle today, I took these photos of the tram. You can see that it’s in fair condition, although I’m sure that there’s much that they’ll want to do to it. I’m not sure how they’ll use it. I doubt if they’ll have overhead wiring, so they may use it as a trailer car behind their Schoma diesel hydraulics. Or they may just have it as a static display item.
