CRICH ELECTRIC 50 ON SUNDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2014

Sunday was also a good day but not as busy as Saturday, even so more old friends arrived.

Leeds 345 waiting its turn to load at Town End

Met 331 on the interlaced track under the Bridge

Cardiff 131 and Sheffield 340 taking their turn in the procession

Sheffield 74 moving down to Town End stop

Met 331 in the queue at the staff post

Guess what through the top deck front side windows of Sheffield 74

Leeds 345 running wrong line up to join the queue to get into the depot at the end of the day

166 following the wrong line running

159, 1068 and 45 at Town End awaiting their call to the Depot

CRICH ELECTRIC 50 ON SATURDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2014

A marvellous time was had by all, visitors, old members, new members etc.  Older members especially spent a lot of time greeting long lost friends and catching up, reminiscing which trams they had worked on/crewed on in the past.

Crowds at the Bridge waiting to greet the start of the procession

The  Rack with dignitaries on the front platform and crew to each side.  Richard was the conductor on the first electric tram journey, which was on the Rack. (the elusive photo of that event has not yet been found)

Newcastle 102 on the Depot front - nice to see it in the daylight.

Chesterfield 7 entering the depot yard

TO PYONGYANG DPRK - PLANES FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED (6)

We travelled to Pyongyang from Beijing on an Air Koryo flight PEKFNJ 0152L, which was operated by plane no P633, a Tupolev TU204-100, one of two which are owned by the airline.

Number of our plane

Watching our luggage being loaded

Arriving Pyongyang.  The airstrip is about 2 miles from the air terminal so we were transported by bus and along the way saw evidence of new runways being built and a new terminal building. I presume DPRK are expecting more and more tourists.  So get your Euros and go.

The other Tupolev parked with bags over engines. Also various other planes and helicopters in the distance with bags over vital parts, perhaps awaiting attention?

PYONGYANG RAILWAY STATION AND ENGINES AUGUST 2014 (5)

Our journey out of North Korea was by train via Dandong to Shenyang in China.  We arrived in good time for our train, went through security and were then ushered into the First Class Lounge to await boarding time for our train.

First Class waiting room with antimacassars!

Lovely cupboard in the waiting room.  Sorry about the reflection!

On the platform walking to our Coach 1.

Our engine, we did not find out why it wasn't an electric engine.  We asked permission to take the photos, then the driver shouted at us for taking them, ce la vie. (The obligatory white van was delivery the food to the restaurant car.)

Leaving Pyongyang after a really good and interesting trip - trolleybuses apart!
