As I mentioned over the weekend, I worked as a junior member of the overhead line team for twenty odd years although this is not officially acknowledged. I have just been reminded of this incident.
'Not only that, but there is the famous occasion when (with Bob on holiday) you and I, with Neil as the PicoW, saved the day one Sunday morning. I still remember hijacking you from the newspaper seller in the Council office doorway! For that, you and I each received an official letter of thanks from the then General Manager. [The UDE on that day went on only about half an hour late after we had repaired a span just above the depot gates.]
I don't know if this is relevant, interesting or useful, but it is fact.'
